Case Studies
We work across factory and process, workforce planning and training, and business and market support. Here’s how that’s played out for real clients.

Business and market, workforce planning, and factory and process

Challenge
A modular housing manufacturer wanted to lift production but needed to know how much capital to commit. Too little and the gains stay marginal. Too much and the payback stretches out.
Approach
We developed three conceptual factory layouts, each at a different level of investment, and analysed all three on the same measures: capital cost, labour reduction and throughput.
Impact
The manufacturer got a like-for-like comparison of three routes to higher output. The strongest option cut line labour by 55% and brought TAKT time from 120 to 80 minutes.

Challenge
Industrialised construction, digital technologies and sustainability requirements are transforming the industry, but the workforce has not evolved at the same pace, leaving organisations without a clear view of the competencies needed to deliver at scale.
Approach
We led an industry-wide workforce foresighting programme, bringing together employers, educators, training providers, professional bodies and policymakers to map future capability and competence requirements.
Impact
The programme identified 140 future capabilities and developed 19 Future Occupational Profiles, giving the sector a practical framework for workforce planning, capability development and competence management.

Challenge
A leadership team had strong technical capability but lacked a clear commercial route to scale. Bid quality was inconsistent, market segmentation was unclear, and pipeline decisions were reactive rather than strategic.
Approach
We ran a market and proposition diagnostic, rebuilt the offer architecture, and introduced a qualification framework to prioritise sectors where delivery capability and margin potential were strongest.
Impact
Commercial decision quality improved, target sectors were narrowed to higher-value opportunities, and the team moved from ad-hoc bidding to a repeatable growth strategy.
